MOTD Captured A Truly Stunning Saving Tackle From Robbie Brady

By Conor O'Leary Updated

There was a time when playing Robbie Brady at left-back represented a risk. The talented winger was seen as an attacking force, and playing him in the back four or five was a way of trying to get your best players on the pitch even if they were out of position.

But Brady's defensive abilities have improved immensely since his move to left-back, culminating in a fantastic last ditch tackle in their game yesterday. Captured on Match Of The Day, Brady just nipped in ahead of the Bournemouth striker to make a telling contribution.

That's the sort of thing Martin O'Neill will need in the next month, and it's great to see Irish players doing well, especially after Wes Hoolahan's star showing in the same game.
