The Ukrainian will have an opportunity to reclaim the belts though.
At the post-fight press conference, the 39-year-old Klitschko confirmed that there was a rematch clause in the fight contract.
I have it in the contract, yes.
Fury also related his openness to facing Klitschko once again.
I'm a fighter, so I will take on all challengers. I want to be a great champion. So I'd like to do it all again. I came here tonight, took the world titles. Whatever happens next is a blessing.
Klitschko added that the where and when would be worked out in time.
Given the dourness of the initial fight - more punches were thrown in rural chippers around Ireland last night - and in hope that people will somehow forget about it, they may want to consider waiting a significant period until scheduling the rematch.
