The hurlers of Dublin and Galway brought the curiosity that is the GAA fight to a global audience last weekend when a mass brawl broke out during the second quarter of their Super 11s game at Fenway Park.
28,000 at the home of the Boston Red Sox, along with more watching on US TV witnessed an incident not normally seen beyond these shores.
The Dublin assistant county secretary labelled it as merely handbags (though James Skehill's attempted ruck clearout certainly looked a level above that) while the Boston Globe wistfully likened it to a 1970s-style NHL scrap.
According to the Irish Independent, both county boards have been punished for the incident. Following a meeting of the CCCC, fines of €5,000 have been doled out to Dublin and Galway.
Just three players were punished for the incident during the game. Iarla Tannian and Andy Smith both saw time in the sin-bin while Conor Dooley was shown a yellow card.
