Over in the States this week they are having their own Donal Og Cusack moment as the chief exec and president of the Phoenix Suns decided to publicly come out at the weekend. In doing so, becoming the first major sports executive to make such an announcement . This interview is slightly better than Donal's appearance on the Late Late.. some strong stuff
Obviously this has provoked wild debate within American sport with Charles Barkley weighing in with this
“First of all, every player has played with gay guys. It bothers me when I hear these reporters and jocks get on TV and say: ‘Oh, no guy can come out in a team sport. These guys would go crazy.’ First of all, quit telling me what I think. I’d rather have a gay guy who can play than a straight guy who can’t play.”
