If you're anything like us here in the Balls.ie offices, then chances are you grew up with the classic kids sports films that there seems to be a cruel shortage of for the kids of today. We laughed, we learned about sports we had no idea existed, and more often than not it was because it was the Big Big Movie on RTE, or the cover looked fun on the shelf in Chartbusters.

Having previously explored the heroes of The Mighty Ducks, and recently reporting on Remember The Titans, we thought it only fair to find out what happened to those involved in another American sporting classic, The Little Giants, which wsa released in 1994.

Here are the findings.

Kevin O'Shea (Ed O'Neill)

You should instantly recognise Ed O'Neill as the grandad/husband of the stunning Gloria in smash hit comedy show 'Modern Family'. O'Neill was already well known for his role on 'Married With Children' and was a major draw for this film.

Danny O'Shea (Rick Moranis)

Recommended

Another well known actor in this movie, 'The Little Giants' was one of Rick Moranis' last appearances as an actor. After his wife passed away in 1997, Moranis quit acting to focus on raising his children. Hollywood's loss, Moranis was brilliant in most of his movies, but you can't argue with his reasoning, a great man.

Icebox (Shawna Waldron)

Well then. Sadly for Icebox she hasn't landed a starring role like she did when she played the role of everyone's favourite female linebacker. A few appearances in low budget films, such as Cyrus which also starred Jonah Hill, and dodgy horror films were what she has on her resume to date.

Junior (Devon Sawa)

Dreamboat QB Junior went on to enjoy roles in the likes of Slackers, NCIS, and Nikita, but most spectacularly... He was Stan in the Eminem music video for 'Stan'! Incredible!

Spike (Sam Horrigan)

Now the proud owner of a jawline that could cut glass, Spike also enjoyed success on TV shows, with the likes of CSI, Veronica Mars, and True Blood. Fair play to him, we were always terrified of him.

Jake (Todd Bosely)

The puny kid with a hypochondriac mother in the film, Jake would go on to star in the unfortunate final series of 'Scrubs', as well as appearances on Veronica Mars and The OC.

Marcus "The Toe" (Marcus Toji)

The chubby kid with a knack for kicking his team-mates in the balls.ie, Marcus was a popular character. He has recently had spots on popular shows such as 'Workaholics', 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia', and 'Rules of Engagement' as well as 'House' and 'Weeds'.
