17-year-old Clondalkin basketball player Aidan Harris Igiehon appeared on last night's Late Late Show.

Standing 6' 10", Aidan has already grabbed the attention of several US Division I colleges while playing for Woodmere Academy in New York.

Aidan explained to Ryan Tubridy how he got the scholarship to the high school.

I started off with a club team called The Dublin Lions. We organised a trip to America - it was all by chance, we attended a 76ers camp - I played really well, I was about 6' 5" already, I was 13.

I dominated, a lot of coaches saw it and I was offered a lot of scholarships around the country for high school.

I called my mom, my Queen, I said, 'Mom, I think I can do it over here? Can I move?'

He also said that he has goals in life beyond playing in the NBA.

That's where I want to be. That's not my end goal. That's one of my biggest goals but I believe life is bigger than basketball. I'm a very academic kid. So, after the NBA, I want to pursue other dreams too.

Aidan asking Ryan Tubridy, "Will I just dunk it?" was the highlight of his appearance.
