The atrocious weather would have left many viewers (and participants, no doubt) wondering why these provincial GAA fixtures were being played out in mid-November.

With action coming from all four provinces around the country, it was mostly Gaelic football on the menu this afternoon; Cushendall's Ulster final defeat of Ballycran the only exception.

Still at the relatively early stages of the competition in most provinces, there will be much more GAA to come in the remainder of 2018. For now, here are a gathering of the best images from this weekend, with all today's results listed below.

Incoming Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham was present to watch Clann na nGael take on Corofin. 

Linesman Eamonn O'Grady had a tremendous view at the same fixture.
