Algerian 800 metre runner Taoufik Makhloufi managed to make a complete arse out of himself after losing a race in the worst possible way. He didn't trip or stumble, he did something much more embarrassing.
Just as he neared the finish line after a lung busting 800 metre race Makloufi, thinking he was home and hosed, put his arms out in celebration and coasted to the finish — giving Kenyan runner Robert Kiptoo Biwott enough time to pass him for the win.

To make matters worse Makloufi didn't realise that he had lost and continued to celebrate long after the finish.
