In the Diamond League final in Brussels this evening, 18-year-old Ethiopian runner Selemon Barega delivered an exceptional performance in the 5000m final.

Not only breaking the U20 World record, Barega ran the fourth-fastest time in 5000m ever.

Totting up the impressive details regarding his performance, the Ethiopian's time of 12:43.02 was the fastest that has been run anywhere at this distance since 2005.
