Earlier in the day Meghan Vogel a track star in Ohio had won the 1600m before running the 3200 at the Division III championship meet. About 20 feet from the finish, Arden McMath started to cramp up and collapsed in front of Vogel. Vogel did what any straight thinking last placed athlete would do, could only do, and helped her compatriot across the line. She is likely to have been on all US breakfast TV shows by the time you read this.
