On Sunday 3 May, runners in 35 different locations around the globe will set off as part of the Wings for Life World Run. The rules are simple. The runners take off at the same time. Then a catcher car takes off thirty minutes afterwards. The runners have to outpace the catcher car for as long as they can.

The winner is the last man standing - wherever in the world he or she happens to be. See last year's race here.

Visually impaired runner Sinead Kane is running the Brazilian leg of the race this year.

Last year's Irish leg took place in Killarney but this year it moves back to the capital and to Dun Laoghaire. Sinead's running aid down in Brazil is the winner of the Irish leg of last year's race, John O'Regan. They are pictured above running in Killiney today.
