You've heard the number before about the amount that has been spent on the Winter Olympics in Sochi ($51 billion) but amongst other things it seems that spend does not get you a sufficient quantity of pillows.
A member of the Sochi catering staff posted a picture on Instagram of notice which was issued to volunteers:

ATTENTION, DEAR COLLEAGUES!
Due to an extreme shortage of pillows for athletes who unexpectedly arrived to Olympic Village in the mountains, there will be a transfer of pillows from all apartments to the storehouse on 2 February 2014. Please be understanding. We have to help the athletes out of this bind.
The opening ceremony isn't until Friday and this is already a fascinating Winter Olympics.
