Ireland was a very different place in the 1980s, our priorities were different, protein shakes and pilates were no where to be seen, we were a nation of snooker playing, cigarette smoking, crisp loving, boxing fans.
We wanted everything Barry McGuigan told us we wanted, the sports media darling was surely inundated with demands for press calls and publicity shots. clearly facing some hard decisions on which products to get behind and which to disregard, McGuigan knew corn based snacks were the key to our hearts, and got behind some of the best onion rings you ever did taste.
There is talk of another variety in the McGuigan crisp line which like his boxing style were adventurous, with Nettle being the flavour.. Did you have a bag of these? could it be true?
