At Modell's Sporting Goods in Brooklyn on Wednesday, Katie Taylor made the day of one young fan.
Taylor was present at the open workouts being held for this weekend's Adrien Broner vs Mikey Garcia fight at the Barclay's Center in New York. Taylor is on the undercard, facing Jasmine Clarkson in her sixth pro fight.
After spotting the 11-year-old fan standing nearby, Taylor invited her to lace up her gloves.
Taylor said she had recognised the young fan as Jesslyn Silva, a precocious young boxing talent.
I definitely love to be able to inspire some young girls.
I've known about Jesslyn for a long time now, I've seen videos of her on Instagram. She's absolutely fantastic, definitely a future star for sure.
I was delighted to see her here today. I just wanted everyone see how great she was.
