After 10 national titles and an Olympic silver medal, Kenny Egan announced his retirement from the ring. Egan lost the light heavyweight final at the Elite National Championships on a score of 25-5 to Joe Ward for the third consecutive year.
Egan received a standing ovation from the crowd at the National Stadium.
