Irish boxer Mick Conlan has been basking in the glory of becoming Ireland's first ever male world boxing champion following his victory in Doha, and earlier today we shared a cracking quote he made to Ciarán Gallagher in the Irish Examiner after his victory, where he compared himself to The Notorious Conor McGregor, even calling himself "Mystic Mick", much to everyone's amusement.
Conlan defeated Uzbek opponent Murodjon Akhmadaliev in the final on Wednesday, and used a post-fight interview to compare himself to the UFC star, and word has found it's way to McGregor, who has given Conlan a big thumbs up in reply:

With all the boxing vs MMA nonsense you're likely to see online, it's refreshing to see two Irish athletes at the top of their game being supportive of one another.
