Watch: Irish Boxer Unafraid To Call Out McGregor/Mayweather Live On Sky Sports

Ryan Burnett will make history later this year, as he takes part in the first world title unification fight ever held on the island of Ireland. Burnett is the defending IBF champion, and will face WBA holder Zhanat Zhakiyanov in Belfast on October 21st this year. Thie fight will be live on Sky Sports.

At the announcement of the fight, Burnett spoke to Sky, and conversation inevitably turned onto the topic of the main event on August 26th: Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather.

Burnett announced the fight on Sky Sports News yesterday morning, and as part of his five-minute appearance, spent almost two minutes answering questions about McGregor/Mayweather, which is live on Sky Sports' Box Office.

He was in no mood to toe the party line, however, and when asked about the fight, Burnett declared that "personally, I don’t think it’s good for boxing. I think it’s just a money-making scheme for the two guys. Still, everyone’s going to tune in and watch it, but personally-

At that stage, the presenter Pete Greaves interjected to ask him to predict a winner. Burnett unsurprisingly went with Mayweather, praising McGregor all the same.
