We warned you yesterday that this one might steal the show in Liverpool.

That being said, we didn't quite get the result we were looking for, as Dublin's 'Cool Hand' Luke Keeler was bombed out in the second round of his rematch with Wales' Tom Doran - the only man to have previously beaten him in his professional career.

Despite the emphatic result, it was a fight which really could have swung either way; after a tentative opening, all hell broke loose during the second half of round one, as Keeler dropped Doran with a stunning right hand before getting caught with a counter-left whilst trying to finish the job.

Relling, the Dub was then caught with some pinpoint shots by his incredibly courageous adversary, landing on his backside as the round drew to a close. In truth, it was all too 'macho' by Keeler where patience was required after the first knockdown, but it created one hell of a spectacle for those in attendance at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

Round 1 tonight in Liverpool between middleweights Tom Doran and Luke Keeler. Possibly one of the best rounds in years. A real street brawl of a round

Keeler's record drops to 10-2 (5KOs) with Doran progressing to 17-0 (7KOs). Co-commentating on Sky Sports, Tony Bellew described the fight as "the best two rounds [he's] seen in a British boxing ring", which is no mean feat. The second round, though, was more one-sided, with Pascal Collins forced to throw in the towel to protect his charge from further punishment as he incredibly attempted to climb off the canvas for a third time.
