Jason Quigley weighed in right on the button at 160 pounds for his career step-up against Mexico's James De La Rosa in Las Vegas.

The Donegal middleweight impressed in front of the media yesterday ahead of a his Vegas debut on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez's World middleweight title clash with Amir Khan, which will be broadcast on BoxNation.

On Friday evening, the undefeated 24-year-old faced off with his 23-3 opponent for the final time before they trade leather at the newly-opened T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.

Quigley looked massive as he towered over De La Rosa, who himself weighed in at 162 pounds. And yes, that is Saved By The Bell's A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez) MCing the Golden Boy event, proving once more that 'El Animal' is a young Irishman is living the American Dream.

Quigley is a hot favourite to see off the vastly more experienced De La Rosa, but most bookies fancy the Ballybofey native by decision as opposed to a stoppage victory.

Quigley though, with a 90% KO ratio in his 10 fights, will be looking to impose his will on the Mexican who usually campaigns a weight division below.

It's been obvious since his decision to turn professional in 2014 that Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions see Quigley as a future star of the sport, and an impressive victory on Saturday will go a long way towards propelling him up the middleweight ladder.
