Watch: Michael Conlan Was On Top Form As He Was Voted RTÉ Sports Person Of The Year

The 2015 RTÉ Sport Awards took place late on Saturday night, and Rio bound boxer Michael Conlan was in top form as he had the crowd laughing throughout an interview with Darragh Maloney.

Conlan became Ireland's first male world boxing champion and was ranked number one amateur bantamweight in the world in 2016, and he told some cracking stories, including the moment he realised he had qualified for the Rio Olympics next year.

A medal hope for Ireland in Rio, Conlan also explained that he's visualising himself standing on the podium and having the gold medal draped around his neck:

A great performance on the sofa, but Conlan would be back in front of the camera as he won the main award on the night to become the 2015 RTÉ Sports Person Of The Year:
