The current Tour de France champion and four time Olympic gold medal winner spent Wednesday night in hospital after being hit by a car near his home in Lancashire. Upon returning home Thursday night and being greeted by a few photographers, he gave them his subtle message. He has since apologised for his gesture which is a shame. I thought this might be the first winner of the BBC sports personality of the year who actually had personality.
