Both teams will be sure to field their strongest players so you should expect to see appearances from the likes of Erling Halaand, Kevin De Bruyne, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal however, have been dealt a major blow ahead of the Community Shield against Manchester City this Sunday, after it was confirmed that Gabriel Jesus has suffered a knee injury, he did not play any part in their friendly against Monaco on August 2nd.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager later announced that Jesus had to undergo a minor operation on his knee and will now miss the start of the 2023/24 season.

"Unfortunately, he had a little procedure this morning,"  Arteta said after the Monaco game.

He had some discomfort in his knee that has been causing some issues and they had to go in and resolve it. It is not something major but he looks to be out for a few weeks I think.

It is a big blow because we had him back to his best, especially the way he played against Barcelona, and he was in good condition and we lost him.

Both teams have also brought in reinforcements from this transfer window. Arsenal have brought in a few star players to bolster their chances of challenging for the title once more this year.

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber could all feature for Arteta's side this Sunday.

Pep Guardiola has also brought more players into his already impressive squad. New €90million signing Josko Gvaridol could feature for his new side if City gets the paperwork finished on time.

The 21-year-old Croatian defender has been the target of many Premier League sides this summer like Chelsea and Tottenham until Guardiola's side swept him up.
