With the football season over, and attention turning to the international scene for the summer with the European Championships and Copa America - some players have found themselves out of contract and without a club going into next season.
For FIFA and Football Manager players, this is usually when some bargains can be had. It's no different than in real life, because there is a lot of talent about. We've selected some of the best free agents into an XI - and we've been able to leave out the likes of Victor Valdes, Michael Carrick, Patrice Evra, and David Villa.
Best Free Agents XI
GK: The most hotly contested position is in goals - where Wojciech Szczesny and Victor Valdes pushed Steve Mandanda close. But it's hard not to go with France's no. 2. The 31-year-old has been brilliant for the last eight years in Marseille, and he deserves to play outside of Ligue 1.
Def: The defense kind of picks itself. There were two Irish options in Damien Delaney and Marc Wilson - but the easy picks are Gregory van der Wiel, Daniel Agger, and Nicholas N'Koulou. The youth and potential of Cameron Borthwick Jackson was enough to beat out the fading but experienced Patrice Evra.
Mid: Michael Carrick and Sampdoria's Ricardo Alvarez were unlucky to miss out on FIFA hero Riccardo Montolivo and Football Manager favourite Miguel Veloso. Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli is in high demand, and he joins Barcelona target Hatem Ben Arfa on the wings.
FOR: Here's where the real talent lies. I could have gone for Crystal Palace pair Marouane Chamakh and Adebayor - but it's hard to ignore Zlatan Ibhramovic and Fernando Torres. That pairing could have been a World XI a few years ago.
