Another Swansea game, another impact from Conor Hourihane. The Irish midfielder has found a rich vein of goal-scoring form since joining on loan from Aston Villa last month, and that form continued in the Swans' trip to Huddersfield.

The promotion chasers will be disappointed to have ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline. But despite the loss, Swansea supporters will again be impressed with Conor Hourihane's efforts in attack. While this may not have been his best all-round performance in what was a collectively poor outing for Swansea, his ability with a dead ball once again payed dividends.

Just before half-time with his side a goal behind, Hourihane whipped a free-kick from just outside the corner of the box into the Huddersfield keeper's near-post to level things up at 1-1.

This makes it an impressive 4 goals in his first 5 league games since joining Swansea. In recent weeks, the Cork man has spoken of his happiness since making the loan move back to the Championship, explaining that a career is too short to spend it sitting on the bench. There can be little doubt that his decision to drop down a division has been vindicated so far.

Hourihane has already established himself as a key player for Swansea, who now sit in fourth place in the Championship with an aim to secure an automatic promotion spot as the season enters the final third. If he maintains this kind of form it will be very difficult for Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny to leave him out of the side when the World Cup qualifying campaign kicks off with games against Serbia and Luxembourg next month.

Hourihane's club form has already made him a favourite among Swansea supporters, who feel that he may end up as one of the signings of the season. If the Twitter reaction among both Swansea and Aston Villa supporters is anything to go by, then Hourihane's recent form is certainly making waves.
