Erling Haaland made history last night by becoming the youngest player to ever receive twice a perfect 10/10 score by French news outlet L'Equipe. On top of that, he is also the first ever Premier League player to receive that rating.

Only Lionel Messi received twice a perfect score by the very famous critics of L'Equipe. He got his second one back in 2012 in a tremendous 7-1 victory against Bayer Leverkusen at the age of 24.

However, since last night, he is no longer the youngest player to have received that honour. Thanks to his excellent performance against RB Leipzig, the Norwegian giant Haaland has received his second 10/10 at only 22 years old.

In the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, he scored five goals in the space of 30 minutes. He was a huge help for the Manchester City team who cruised through to the quarter finals by winning 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium. They had to win this game as the first leg ended 1-1 in Germany. Thanks to that amazing show, Erling Haaland is on e of the 14 players to receive at least one 10/10 by L'Equipe.

Haaland added his name to the very limited list of people receiving 10/10 by the French paper back in October 2022 when his team beat Manchester United 6-3 in the Premier League. On that day he scored a hat trick and assisted two other goals to earn himself a spot in L'Equipe's elite tier of best performances.

The first 10/10's given by L'Equipe was in 1988 and they were awarded to Franck Sauzee and Bruno Martini. Their incredible performances for France under 21's team against Greece were rewarded by the French news outlet.
