French Referee Spoils Debut By Sending Off Wrong Player

Referee Stephane Jochem was making his Ligue 1 debut on Saturday in the match between Valenciennes and Toulouse. Having risen through the ranks it was an exciting day for the official. All was going well when he correctly awarded Valenciennes a penalty in the 35th Minute. Jochem appeared to send off the offender Steeve Yago, but it was actually his team mate and very confused defender Uros Spajic who got his marching orders.
