George Hamilton didn't hold back his criticism of FIFA and Qatar's antics in the World Cup final presentation.

After a thrilling final on Sunday, all eyes across the world were on Lionel Messi, as he lifted the one trophy that has been out of his reach through his career, the World Cup.

Messi scored two goals and was named the player of the tournament in the most crowning moment of an incredible career.

While all the attention should have been on him and his Argentina teammates, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was desperate to be the star of the show.

It appeared to be one of the many sportswashing attempts in Qatar through the tournament, which didn't go unnoticed.

His incredible career has taken him across the globe, FIFA's stunts to spin Qatar into a positive light wouldn't have been a surprise to him.

However, George Hamilton's tweet earlier today received huge praise for his criticism of the FIFA president. In his tweet he said "The vainglorious clown in his sponsored runners. The man it was all about, obliged to don the sponsor's cloak to cover his national shirt. And the smiling benefactor. Sport has gone to hell in a handcart."

To see someone with the experience of Hamilton feel so strongly about this shows just how badly FIFA have judged the roo. The comments of Gianni Infantino throughout the tournament caused huge controversy, as he failed to confront key issues that Qatar has been under the spotlight for.
