Kilkenny hurling legend Henry Shefflin scored a Panenka as his Southend United Legends side won a charity soccer match after a penalty shootout on St Stephen's Day.

The Legends team defeated a Southend U18 team in Ballyhale with the proceeds going towards Kilkenny Helping the Homeless.

To the delight of the crowd, 10-time Kilkenny All-Ireland winner and current Galway manager Shefflin dinked the ball down the middle of the goal as the keeper dived to his left.

"What an amazing day yesterday for Southend United and Kilkenny Helping the Homeless. It was a great community turn out," the football club said in a post on Facebook.

"Thanks so much for everyone's support and generosity we raised €1620.52 for Kilkenny Helping the Homeless and thanks to Sue Dillon for coming out. Thanks to Dave Gallagher on the mic yesterday that made it a fun day.
