James McClean Responds To Critics Of New Tattoo With The Most Eloquent Tweet Possible

You can't help but love James McClean. Sure, when he's in a green jersey some of his more thoughtless tackles can become a bit frustrating. However, when he's in a West Brom jersey, they're just excellent to watch.

Leaving aside the tackles, it's great to see that McClean is getting his head down and really starting to impress the West Brom faithful. He grabbed his first goal for the club against Spurs last weekend and he's becoming a key member of Tony Pulis' side, no mean feat for someone who was relegated from the Championship last season.

For all his good play on the pitch however, there will still always be a bit of us that loves a good James McClean tweet as much as any dodgy tackle. He's been largely sedate on social media of late but thankfully he was back in top form last night after posting a picture of his new tattoo to mark the birth of his son back in September.

Perhaps not to everyone's taste but we certainly won't argue over the subjectivity of art. However, there were quite a few people pointing out a bit of a problem. Four in roman numerals is IV not IIII.

And that's true for the most part, except for the fact that it's a regular quirk that clocks and watches often show IIII to denote four. The reasons for that have been debated among horologists and the like for quite a while but one thing was for certain, McClean's tattoo was correct and he was only too happy to let the doubters know.

While there were plenty of people pointing out his mistake, the nature of his reply to this one individual needs special attention.
