Juan Sebastian Veron is returning to professional football at the ripe old age of 41. He has signed an 18-month playing contract with Argentine club Estudiantes, as a way of upholding his end of a bargain he made with the club's supporters. He will make a minimal wage while playing, which he will then donate back to Estudiantes.

Veron began his career with Estudiantes back in 1994, before returning to end his career at his hometown club, calling it a day in 2014. He then moved upstairs to act as the club's chairman. He recently made a pact with supporters that, if they bought 65% of the viewing boxes at the club's stadium boxes. They did exactly that, and now Veron will be eligible to play in the league - Estudiantes currently sit fourth - and will also be able to compete in next year's Copa Libertadores, South American's version of the Champions League.

What a bloody legend. Journalist and United fan Daniel Harris has used the occasion to tweet a few of his favourite Veron's assists, and we decided it would be rude not to share them, given that we enjoyed them so bloody much.

Legend!
