If Liverpool's Champions League campaign has taught us anything, it's that their squad is nowhere near deep enough to sustain a challenge on all fronts. Injuries to Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emre Can all meant that Liverpool faced Roma yesterday with only three fully fit senior midfielders in Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner.

So it will come as no surprise that Liverpool boss is on the lookout for new recruits and German sports outlet Bild are reporting that Klopp will raid former club Borussia Dortmund for American midfielder Christian Pulisic.

Bild has the price tag on Pulisic set at £53 million and the paper also reached out to Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc who confirmed that he is in constant talks with Klopp, though Zorc denied that there is any deal in place which would see Pulisic move to Anfield.

The 19-year-old has been linked to Liverpool ever since Klopp moved to Anfield, and has impressed in Germany despite his youth, racking up 95 appearances and scoring 12 goals over three seasons at Dortmund. Pulisic plays as a number 10 or winger for Dortmund who currently sit in third place with four games left in the Bundesliga.

Pulisic has made 20 appearances for his national side and has also drawn the attention of Arsenal. The Pennsylvania native also trained with Tottenham and Southampton before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2015.
