It is likely that Manchester United will undergo a sizeable overhaul both on and off the pitch this summer.

New minority owner Jim Ratcliffe is keen to switch up the footballing structures at the club, something that is set to involve the arrival of Dan Ashworth as sporting director (assuming a deal can eventually be struck with Newcastle United). Other director roles are likely to follow, but the changes will not stop there.

The future of Erik ten Hag is yet to be decided, with reports suggesting that Ratcliffe could look to appoint a new manager at the end of the season. As well as that, you can expecting some incomings and outgoings in the transfer market.

One potential target has now been identified.

Manchester United eyeing move for Premier League defender

The Times are reporting that Manchester United are considering a move for Wolves defender Max Kilman this summer.

It is clear that some defensive reinforcement will be required at Old Trafford in the off-season, with the team having looked incredibly vulnerable at the back over the course of the campaign.

Their tactical approach played a large part in that, but the lack of reliable personnel has also been an issue. The likes of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane regularly miss time due to injury.

Max Kilman is a consistent Premier League performer, playing the full 90 minutes in each of Wolves' league fixtures so far this season. Having made 37 league appearances in the 2022/23 campaign, that level of availability would certainly appeal to interested clubs.

The 26-year old has yet to make his international debut, although he has been tipped for an England call-up for quite some time. Wolves previously rejected an offer of around £30million for the player, meaning Manchester United would likely have to significantly surpass that amount if they wish to get a deal done.
