Two former England internationals are being strongly linked with the managerial position at Limerick FC. Both Peter Taylor who won 4 caps for his country and Les Ferdinand who won 17 caps are both reportedly to be in line for the job.

Taylor has emerged as the outright favourite to take the job following reports that he has held talks with the Limerick chairman, Pat O'Sullivan. This would come as a massive boost to Limerick as such a high profiled manager would certainly give the club great impetus in heading back into the Premier Division. Taylor who enjoyed two separate spells as England U21 boss also managed in the Premier League with Leicester City.

If Taylor was to get the job, he would follow in the footsteps of fellow English man, Sam Allardyce who was player/manager for Limerick in the 1991-92 season.

Other names to have been mentioned with regard to the job are former Irish internationals Jason McAteer and Kenny Cunningham. While the likes of Damien Richardson and Johnny McDonnell remain in the hunt.

An announcement on Limerick's decision is expected within the next week.
