In a season that has been full of disappointing results and performances, Manchester United's 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace earlier this week might have been the worse of the lot.

Erik ten Hag's side were absolutely battered at Selhurst Park, with the four-goal winning margin in no way flattering the hosts.

Whereas the home team looked like a team with a clear tactical philosophy, Manchester United continued to play like a side that lacked direction. When you consider that Crystal Palace only appointed their current manager back in February, the clear impact he has already made on his players certainly does not reflect well on ten Hag.

Roy Keane has clash with Wright over Manchester United comparison

While Crystal Palace may have easily outplayed Manchester United this week, not everyone feels that it is fair to compare the two teams.

Roy Keane certainly took umbrage to Ian Wright to suggesting that the London-based club were in a better place than his old side.

Speaking on Stick to Football in association with Sky Bet, the pair would have a heated clash over the matter. You can see one part of their conversation in the clip below.

Wright: You look at Palace and they've changed... They want to do something where they can go somewhere else. They've now found a manager, who has won things, and look at the Palace team. How can it take so long (for Manchester United)?

Keane: Are you comparing Crystal Palace to Man United? Where are Palace in the league? They're on a good little run at home.

Wright: Yeah but Palace have just changed their manager for 13 games.

Keane: So Palace have got all the answers then?

Wright: They haven't got all the answers, but they've got structure.

Keane: You know why they're doing well? Because they've got their two best players playing, they've got two very good players. Palace are 14th in the league so don't be getting all excited about Crystal Palace!

Wright: It's not getting all excited about Crystal Palace. What I'm excited about Palace is that their manager is changing something for them.

Keane: Praise the lord... Where are Palace now? They're up to 14th?

Wright: I'm not bothered where they are?

Keane: You're not bothered where they are?! It's pretty important where you are in the league table isn't it?

Wright: You're being facetious now.

Keane: I'm not... Palace have got all the answers? What have Palace done for the last 20 years?

Wright: They're the team that just hammered f*****g United!

Crystal Palace have certainly made clear strides under their new manager, something that has not been the case for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag this season.

In saying that, Roy Keane does not seem to be buying the hype.
