The Daily Star's Piece On "Playboy" Raheem Sterling Is Comically Hypocritical

A rather unfortunate excuse for a story emerged in British tabloid 'The Daily Star' today, and it shows just how utterly ridiculous the obsession with footballers' wealth currently is.

Apparently, Raheem Sterling has a new car. He showed up to training in a Bentley GTX 700-4, which may be of interest to some people as there are a lot of petrol-heads out there, but the Daily Star decided to spin it in a different way.

They have claimed that his Man City teammates were angry that he had so many nice cars. It seems like an incredibly strange angle to take, and a bit of a reach to be honest. If it sounds bad, it looks worse:

As painfully cringey as that is, it is made far worse by the fact that the last Raheem Sterling article they published was taking the piss out of him for flying Easy Jet... 10 days ago...

Whatever about posting the every move of celebrities, there are actually some people that enjoy that stuff, but for feck sake at least be consistent.

So what's the actual problem here?

They are so eager to paint Sterling as some sort of evil supervillain that they can't even remember what they've had a go at him for in the last two weeks.

Sterling has recently conducted an interview with Gary Lineker where he suggests that the media pressure around England stars is having a negative effect, and stuff like this isn't going to help.

Credit to the lads at 101greatgoals for spotting this example of brazen hypocrisy.
