Eamon Dunphy loves France. France is great, it's an ideal socialist republic and it's citizens stand up to the government who wilfully back down on everything they try to do and the country is better for it. Make of that what you will.
Dunphy, in his guise as social commentator, was on RTÉ's Claire Byrne Live on Monday night where he went toe to toe with Fine Gael junior minister Simon Harris in what was a highly entertaining debate.
On one side you had Harris saying 'relax Eamon, everything isn't as bad as your saying'. On the other hand you had Dunphy saying it is, funnily enough. Fairly standard fare but if you haven't already, it's worth taking a look at the entire thing on the RTÉ Player.
However, we're particularly enamoured with this parting shot from Harris who dismissed Dunphy's entire argument because he likes to criticise success just like he did when Charlton was managing the Irish team. Don't you just love politics.
