Watford striker Troy Deeney is having himself an impressive first season in the Premier League, especially considering how difficult it can be to transition from banging 20+ goals in the Championship every season to being an effective striker in the Premier League. Just ask Michael Chopra.

Through his partnership with Odeon Ighalo which flourished in the first half of the season, Deeney played a big role in what will be a successful avoidance of relegation, and he was invited into the Match Of The Day studios to play a more supporting role of pundit alongside Kevin Kilbane on MOTD 2 this week.

Deeney was an enjoyable guest, and talked with a refreshing lack of bullshit clichés for the most part, but his analysis on a young player who played well against Everton on Sunday, and also happened to clatter Troy Deeney when Watford took a trip to Old Trafford, will have United fans very excited over another promising youngster.

While the likes of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Marcus Rashford have both pleased the fans with their impressive performances in the first team, their breakthrough has been a surprise, but Fosu-Mensah is a player that those who watch the U21 and youth sides had earmarked for senior football for some time now.

And it's easy to see why. Aside from showing composure on the ball and good defensive positioning, he is one hell of an athlete at just 18 years of age.

But most of all, as Troy Deeney knows all too well, the kid is not afraid to get stuck in. That willingness to get the crowd off of their seats with a big challenge is something the Old Trafford faithful have sorely missed in recent seasons.
