Boris Johnson has responded to the #GetBorisToCastlebar hashtag that has been trending since London's historic victory over Letrim in the Connacht semi-final. In a statement given to RTÉ Sport, the Mayor of London congratulated Paul Coggins' team on reaching their first ever provincial final.

Johnson appeared to rule out attending the final but these quotes indicate that Gaelic football may have tugged on his heartstrings.

"Regardless of the result against Mayo, London can be proud of their mightily impressive achievements this year," Johnson said.
"They travel to Castlebar on their momentous quest for victory with best wishes from me and all London fans.
"Go London!”
