This is definitely the beginnings of the plot for an Irish-based version of Breaking Bad.

Players with the Cortoon Shamrocks GAA club in Galway got a bit of a shock when they turned up for training on Wednesday evening, the floodlights were missing.

According to the Connacht tribune, Gardai believe that the lights were stolen for use in the growing of cannabis as there would be little market for the resale of the equipment which was worth around €3,000.

Gardai also believe that the theft must have taken place during the day as it would have been an extremely dangerous operation otherwise as it involved the climbing of the 40ft tall poles and then lowering of the lights by their cables to the ground.

If this doesn't get turned into a TV series then it's an absolute travesty.

Once Love/Hate is finished there could definitely be a place for Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as the Walter White-esque character.
