Dónal Óg Cusack Subject To Homophobic Twitter Abuse
By PJ Browne Updated

Update:

A Peter Lavelle has distanced himself from the tweets sent by the @peterlavellered Twitter account to Dónal Óg Cusack.

Social media can be a great resource but it can also be a medium for some to spew their bile.

After Donal Óg Cusack, tweeted a picture of his dog yesterday, he received a response telling him that he had let his parents and the people of Cork down due to his sexual preference.

Although it's probably best to just ignore trolls like this, Donal Óg responded courteously, certainly a lot more than the tweeter deserved.

Further homophobic tweets followed in return to the former Cork hurler's tweet.

It seems that this tweeter has a thing for trolling sports stars with Cillian Sheridan, Rafa Nadal and Eamonn O'Hara also being the recipients of his hostility.

He does appear to be a big Roger Federer fan though
