It looks like Colm Parkinson's interview with Jim Gavin may have had a ripple effect as the Irish Independent are reporting that the CCCC are reopening their investigation into incidents at the Dublin v Armagh challenge match, which left Davey Byrne with severe injuries.

Although the committee have already seen a video of the incident, they Indo say they may now request that Jim Gavin pass on the name of the Armagh player involved, after the Dublin manager told Parkinson that Byrne and the player had talked to each other after the game.

The interview between the Off the Ball co-presenter and Gavin was extremely tense at times, Gavin repeatedly telling Parkinson that they wanted to move on from the whole thing. However, when someone suffers such injuries as Byrne suffered then it's very tough to let a sleeping dog lie.

Although there was no mention of the row in the referee's report, the latest developments allow the CCCC to look into it once more.
