Neville Coughlan celebrates his wrestling of an armed robber to the ground. You want some?

Former Offaly dual player, Neville Coughlan, was involved in a spot of crime fighting by night yesterday evening.

Two men dressed in balaclavas had entered a Gala store in Geashill, Co. Offaly, threatened two female members of staff and were making for the door with  €1,000 when they were stopped in their tracks by Coughlan.

Best to let him take up the story from there. "I was acting on adrenalin" the hero explained modestly, " I tackled him and wrestled him to the ground. Another man got out of his car and helped me pin him down. We thought we had him but he tried to pull a knife on us." And that's when Neville really got angry. "That’s when I buried my knee in to his back and took him back down."

Geashill is a safer place tonight thanks to the heroics of Coughlan.
