Full forward Paul Kennedy scored his first goal in close range, flicking Kevin Butler's pass straight into the net. Slipping past Muiris Ó Dálaigh a second time, his shot hit the back of the next almost immediately following his first goal. Monaleen's Max Ivory widened the gap once more with a free to extend their score difference for a final time, but Paul Kennedy's momentum did not falter. After a long pass in to the front of the goal, Kennedy knew his target, hitting the net with a superb strike and securing Drum & Inch's champion title in a memorable one point victory.

Kennedy scored a total of 3-7 out of Drum & Inch's final score of 3-8, a heroic contribution to a huge comeback by the Tipperary side.
