We've made it! We've bloody well made it!

Yes, plotted amongst the likes of chess boxing, ferret legging and The Summer Redneck Games, one can find hurling ranked in Buzzfeed's 'Top 16 Unbelievably Ridiculous World Sports.' We haven't quite made it to the top but getting featured on one of the top websites in the world ain't half bad work for a cold November night.

They describe it as 'A prehistoric Gaelic sport that is part hockey, part lacrosse, and part soccer. Balls are hit through goals for points, and they can exceed 93 mph.'

However they explain to their fellow Americans that they wouldn't be fit to play it because 'No padding is worn while playing hurling, and helmets were not required until 2010. Plus there’s the difficulty of hitting a ball going close to 100 mph.'

Our sixth place finish is pretty respectable considering Gloucester cheese rolling doesn't even make it onto the list.
