Joe Brolly will be a pundit on eir sport in the coming months as part of the broadcaster's coverage of the Allianz Football League.

The addition of Brolly to their line-up was confirmed on Monday.

The Derryman last appeared as part of RTÉ's football coverage back in September for the drawn All-Ireland final between Dublin and Kerry.

While discussing Jonny Cooper's red card in the game, Brolly suggested at half-time that referee David Gough had been influenced by 'Kerry propaganda' in making the decision. He later apologised to Gough.

Brolly was subsequently jettisoned from the national broadcaster's coverage for the replay and did not appear on the station again.

eir will show 15 games in this year's Allianz Leagues across seven weeks. Their coverage begins on January 25th with a triple header featuring All-Ireland hurling champions Tipperary against Limerick, along with two football games: Dublin vs Kerry and Donegal vs Mayo.
