Wonderful little tale in the Independent today about Kilkenny hurler Matthew Ruth almost accidentally leaking Arcade Fire's new album. Ruth bought the album in Rollercoster Records in Kilkenny and in his excitement, immediately tweeted out a pic of it. An honest mistake on the part of the store saw the album for sale two days before worldwide release. Fans from as far away as Brazil tweeted Ruth to ask him to leak the new tunes.

Arcade Fire contacted the store and Ruth and others returned their copies. Win Butler, lead singer of the band rang Ruth to thank him for returning the album and to promise him to fly him out to see the band soon. The paper also describes how USA Today reported the story:

pothole

Kilkenny does have a habit as a county of destroying carefully calculated plans.
