The year was 1996 and Down were facing Cavan in the semi-final of Ulster Football Championship. Throughout the game there wasn't a hair's breadth between the sides, until suddenly Greg McCartan came galloping like a Gold Cup horse to drive the ball into the top corner of the net.

His goal earned Down a 1-13 to 0-13 victory but what has become most memorable was the celebration. McCartan wheels away into the two handed jubilation gesture, followed by the finger in the air, tranisitioning to the choo-choo leg pump before rounding it off with a Walt Whitman barbaric yawp. 10/10.

Down and Cavan meet again in the championship this Saturday and McCartan is rumoured to be giving the Mournemen some celebration coaching as we speak.
