Owen Mulligan was arrested in Listowel, Co. Kerry last month on suspicion of drink driving. The three-time All-Ireland winner was charged with refusing to give a blood sample to Gardai when his case came before Listowel District Court.

According to the Irish Independent the incident happened on August 29th when Mulligan was in the town for the wedding of a former inter-county teammate at the Listowel Arms Hotel. The wedding was that of Michael Coleman to Erin Loughran, a former New York Rose of Tralee contestant.

Interestingly, solicitor for Mulligan (who was not present in court) was John O'Dwyer, son of Mick O'Dwyer.

The case will appear before the court again later this year. John O'Dwyer promised that Mulligan will be in attendance.
