The record attendance for the National League could be challenged in finals day this Sunday. The Division 1 and 2 final double-header at Croke Park is selling out quickly, and hopes are high that it could pass the record 81,678 crowd for the 2007 Division 1 season opener between Dublin and Tyrone which debuted the stadium's floodlights.

With just less than a week to go, the official sales figures suggested that there would be at least a crowd of 50,000 people at the two finals - which would approach previous high attendance figures for National League games.

The games will take place on the date of the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, and the Laochra event that will commemorate the occasion is also thought to be a big draw.

Fans can still get tickets from the GAA website, with tickets still available from €20.
