Last week we showed you who The Sunday Game and GAA.ie repectively picked as their footballing teams of the year. The 45 nominees to make the 2012 All Star team have been released with 12 counties being represented.

Unsurprisingly, finalists Donegal and Mayo take up just under half the nominations with 12 and 10 nominees respectively. Ulster has the most nominees with 14, coming from Donegal, Armagh and Down. Leinster have 13 nominations spread over 6 counties, Dublin, Meath, Longford, Kildare, Laois and Wexford. Connacht have 10 nominees all coming from Mayo. Munster have the worst represented province with 8 players coming from Cork and Kerry.

The Footballer of the Year will be coming from Donegal, with Karl Lacey, Colm McFadden and Frank McGlynn on the three man list.

In the Young Footballer of the Year shortlist, Meath's Donal Keogan, Donegal's Paddy McBrearty and Mayo's Cillian O'Connor have a chance of winning the award.

Here are the 45 nominees for GAA/GPA 2012 All Star Team:

Goalkeepers: David Clarke (Mayo); Stephen Cluxton (Dublin); Paul Durcan (Donegal).

Full Backs: Eoin Cadogan (Cork); Ger Cafferkey (Mayo); Keith Higgins (Mayo); Donal Keogan (Meath); Eamon McGee (Donegal); Neil McGee (Donegal); Paddy McGrath (Donegal); Rory O'Carroll (Dublin); Michael Shields (Cork).

Half backs: Emmet Bolton (Kildare); Colm Boyle (Mayo); Adrian Flynn (Wexford); Lee Keegan (Mayo); Karl Lacey (Donegal); Frank McGlynn (Donegal); Kevin Nolan (Dublin); Michael Quinn (Longford); Anthony Thompson (Donegal).

Is there any changes you would make to the nominees? Is there anyone you feel is unlucky to make the list or are their players lucky to make it?
